Applications for Open Studios
Please read our terms and conditions, and then complete our application form here if you would like to participate in Open Studios 2020.
Terms & Conditions
Please note that by completing the online application form, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
The closing date for applications is 31st March 2020. No applications will be accepted after this date.
Information provided on your application form (excluding your address & telephone number) will be used for general publicity (website, Facebook, print media, brochure etc) & communication with artists will be by open email (i.e. no bcc’s).
Each artist will be expected to distribute and disseminate publicity. You will be allocated a number of flyers, posters and brochures and emails to forward to your contacts.
Each studio group will be expected to work together and with neighbouring studios to maximise publicity and co-ordinate signage.
Studio management will be the responsibility of each Studio group, but advice and support will be available if needed.
Studios must be open from 10.00 - 5.00, and there should be someone in attendance during this time. You are responsible for the security of your own work at all times and you may wish to take out your own insurance.
Safe access is a must and the safety of your visitors will be your responsibility.
Work to be exhibited may be of any type and in any media, but it must be appropriate for a community event. You are asked to consider quality of work when selecting pieces for display in your studio. A wide variety of work is encouraged to add to the interest of the occasion, and should be professionally presented.
Applications from established groups
The Group leader must be a paid-up member of Crowborough Arts and only their contact details should appear on the entry form.
There will be a £25 entry fee covering the whole group. Groups are advised that there will be no individual publicity either on the brochure or website - only the name of the group. The three pictures submitted for the brochure/website will have the Group name but no individual credit.
Any artist exhibiting in a Group who is NOT a member of Crowborough Arts is advised to take out public liability insurance, as only members are covered. Please contact Jane Smith on 01892 6544301 for advice.
You will need to supply 3 images of your work. We will request these by email - please do not send them before we do so. Format - jpeg at 300 dpi (600 x 600 pixels) - this is the minimum size. Your camera should be set to take a medium sized jpg (not set to take the smallest jpg). If you are shooting on an iphone or ipad this will automatically be set to a higher resolution. Do not worry - the photo will be reduced to 600 x 600 pixels. This is to stop anyone trying to copy your high resolution photo.
You should aim to take a squared up photo of your work – not on the slant. The first photo should be the one you wish to go in the brochure and it must be LANDSCAPE (not Portrait) format. The other 2 photos can be as you wish – Landscape, Portrait or Square.
If you are able to label them, do so with your surname and 1. E.g. Smith1.jpg The next two photos as Smith2.jpg and Smith3.jpg. If this is too difficult – don’t worry.
